We've turned him into a victim, a martyr. We've given him hero status.

He is more like they are, they felt prior to our invasion that we were stealing the wealth of the arab world and oppressing them. Now we are "picking on Saddam." In their eyes, not because we have a just case against him, but because he's an upity arab.

We've admitted our reasons for invasion were completely phoney. There are no WMD. It's how they see it.
