this is not a well-known war,it was happened from 1979 to 1989.it lasted 10 years,and so many Vietnamese dead for this war.
I think many body forget this war.although in China and Vietnam,both CN and VN government are not mention this war.you can't find this history in CN&VN history book...

why did China attack Vietnam? in Vietnam forum,you just can hear one sound:because China leader want to destroy Vietnam.and some Vietnamese really believe it. of course,China leader don't want to destroy Vietnam,if China leader really did it,then the first war wasn't last just 18 days.

Although CN government don't mention in public,but in our China-Vietnam war forum,many vietran talk this war.and some of my classmate's father joined that war.so i know some about this war.

I know,in Western world,media said China invaded Vietnam in 1979.but I think not many people know the real reason to cause that war.it's really a complicated war.it difficutlt to explain it.

just Chinese and Vietnamese fought in battlefield,but in back ground,you can see 4 country:China,Vietnam,Russia,US.don't be surprise,US didn't joined that war,but really play an important role in the 4 country realtion.

to know this war,I think i should talk it from 1946.
aftern WWII came to the end,in 1946,began "cold war".as you know,one side is Soviet Russia,one side is NATO.China didn't join any side

1950s,Korea war broke out.US sent troops to Korea,and for keep US Army far away from China---North Korea border.China sent troops to Korea too.in this time,US is China's enemy.China is Russia's ally.

1963,Russia leader said China leader didn't support Russia in "Cuba missile case",(everyone know Russian want to settled missile in a Cuba island which near US).since that year,Russia and China's realtion is being bad.in the same time,US soldiers fought with North Vietnamese in Vietname war.and both China and Russian support North Vietnam.in this time:China is not Russia's ally,and is not Russia's enemy.but both China and Russia conside US is their enemy,they have a same ally:Vietnam

1969,in the North China--Russia border,break war.since that year,China is being Russia's enemy.in Vietnam,war wasn't came to the end.Russia and China still support North Vietnam:although war break between China and Russia.

1970,American figure out Chinese are not slave for Russian.so,for unite China against Russia.President Nixon visit China,and met China's leader Mao Ze Dong in Beijing.it is very interesting:US and China are Russia's enemy,North Vietnam is Russia and China's ally,US is North Vietnam's enemy.in Shanghai,some Vietnamese know Nixon visit China,they decide to protest,but Chinese stop them.since that year,China and Vietnam's realtion is being bad.

1975,South Vietnam,Saigong fall down.VC unify Vietnam.

since 1976,Vietnam Government want to Chinese who were live in Vietnam adopted Vietnam.if he/she disagree,then disport them back to China.so, many Chinese leave their home.some vietnamese (most are soldiers) attack them when they on their way back to China:Vietnamese insult,hurt ,maltreat them.this is one reason cause that war,but is not the most important

the most important reason is:since VC unify Vietnam,they conside their North neighbor Country(China) threat them:because China is a big country.so they conside they want to establish"Indochina Federation"to shield China,at the same time,since 1969 break war,Russian want to stop China being strong.so Russian and Vietnamese sign a new military treaty in 1978.this treaty used for boycott China.

for established "Indochina Federation",Vietnam attack Kampuchea,and taken that country's capital in 1978.at the same time,Vietnamese attack Thailand in Vietnam-Thailand border.

in Vietnam forum,Vietnamese confess since 1978,Vietnamese ready to fight with Chinese.since French invade Vietnam,they give Vietnamese and Chinese a big problem in Border.in 1978,Vietnamese(police and soldiers) and Chinese(ordinary person and soldiers) often fought for border,Chinese didn't shoot to Vietnamese,just used stone and stick.but Vietnamese used gun too,so,many Chinese(I don't know the correct number) were shot down by Vietnamese.

1979, new year.China's leader Deng Xiao Ping visit US.in this trip,American didn't promise they don't protect Taiwan.but China still have decided on the establishment of diplomatic relations with US.this cause Russian and Vietnamese unhappy.
before he visit US serval month ago,he met a singapor official(Li Guang Yao),he said,China maybe attack Vietnam,teach Vietanam a lesson.
