If you refer to natural gas, again, Canada and Mexico are the largest suppliers to the USA (by a longshot). Canada has more natural gas reserves than just about anywhere on the planet.

And your crack about the "free market" is almost laughable. That's the source of a significant portion of the problem, not the solution. Indeed, is not the reason that there are limitations upon drilling in coastal areas have anything to do with the fact that previous "free market" players have had too many "accidents" in such situations - accidents that have enormous implications for tourism and wildlife? In other words, too many people have learned not to trust the "free market" when it comes to such matters as offshore drilling.
