Why can't we tax the h*ll out of foreign oil companies while at the same time at least begin to start drilling our own oil? The reason we don't drill off the coast of Florida is a conservative restriction.
The juicy coast of Florida is the heavily republican west coast, and the thought of giving those reliably republican voters a local environmental issue, is something that makes Karl Rove reach for the TUMs.
