Boehner Asks Obama To Delay Major Jobs Speech [UPDATED]
The lack of respect shown to President Obama is simply outrageous in my opinion. That being said whenever he does do the speech, he better go big or go home. These watered down measured that Republicans might let him pass will do nothing.WASHINGTON -- Upping the stakes of his push for a major jobs plan, President Barack Obama asked House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) Wednesday morning to call a joint session of Congress that would take place on Sept. 7, 2011.
Boehner responded later Wednesday, inviting the president to address Congress on Sept. 8 instead.
Boehner's response to Obama's request may be unprecedented, according to the Senate Historical Office.
"The Senate Historical Office knows of no instance in which Congress refused the president permission to speak before a Joint Session of Congress," said Betty K. Koed, an associate historian for the U.S. Senate

They should have just told Obama to C&P whatever text he is planning to read off the teleprompters and e-mail it to congress so they can mark it as spam and send it to the junk box.
It is outrageous that Obama would show this much disrespect to congress and the American people. After this stunt they should never allow him address a joint session of congress again.

Its the day they come back from resess, and the day of event that has been planned for nearly a year.. the lack of respect by Obama is amazing...
Obama is noithing more then a spoiled little child who deserves a smack once in a while..
they should deny his request outright and instead ask for a detailed plan they can debate..
The time for SPEACHES is over.

Bullshit! This is simply a political stunt by Obama/Immelt and you know it.
If Obama had something important to say to congress he could say it right now this minute. He would not have to wait until a week from now and do it at the exact same time as the Republican presidential debate.
Any time Obama sends a letter requesting to read a campaign speech from teleprompters before a joint session of congress they should ignore it and recycle the paper it's written on by donating it to Lutherf's office complex. Some expensive white house stationary made from cotton might be a little softer than the 80 grit stuff they're using now.

It's already been reported that the Sep. 7 day put forward by Obama to Boehner some time ago was not problematic then, but is somehow problematic now. So what gives?
Typical of America these days that it can't do two things at once. Just watch one and record the other. In any case, the right won't watch Obama whether it's that night or the following night anyway, so what the fuck is the right crying about here?
Just watch: Obama will move it to Thursday and the right will be pissed with him that he's cutting into opening night of the NFL.
Obama won't ever win with these fucking losers, so why should he even consider their schedule anyway?
It's a shame that under this President the last 7 months, the entire direction of the country has been controlled by stupid, cry-baby John Boehner.
