So maligned is Sarah Palin, that if and when she might say something incredibly insightful, most observers, especially those who play "gotcha" with her would completely miss it.
When she punctuates a speech with the fact that seven of the ten richest counties in America surround DC as a demonstration that "serving" government has become a get rich quick scheme, you need to pay attention.
Known for her swipes at the "lamestream" media, she seems to have documented that point as all but one reporter seems to have missed one of, if not the most poignant speeches of this political season.
Before people start jumping down my throat, I find Sarah Palin an astonishing curiosity and phenomenon, but believe she would make only a slightly better president than Owebama, which is to say a miniature disaster.
However, she gores the established political establishment on both sides in what has to be the most unpartisan speeches in recent memory and should, but it won't, rank up there with Eisenhower's "military industrial complex" speech.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/10/us...ndgiridharadasShe made three interlocking points. First, that the United States is now governed by a “permanent political class,” drawn from both parties, that is increasingly cut off from the concerns of regular people. Second, that these Republicans and Democrats have allied with big business to mutual advantage to create what she called “corporate crony capitalism.” Third, that the real political divide in the United States may no longer be between friends and foes of Big Government, but between friends and foes of vast, remote, unaccountable institutions (both public and private).
And, in the New York Times no less. I had to check to see that the earth had not shifted on its axis

As respectable as Dana Priest is, she is not a leader and founder of the Tea Party, rather the other end of the spectrum. And that, I suggest, makes one hell of a big difference.
And I was not aware that Priest has lashed out with an across the board salvo at everyone in elected office. In fact it was my impression she's rather enamored with Nancy Pelosi and Owebama......

Sarah is a smart and competent women. Only those blinded by the fact that she isn't dog ugly cant see this. Palin has shown the country how truly little the country has gone for taking smart women seriously. It also shows how the media hate women who are not pro baby killing.

My wife is smart, and hot, and a damn successful business woman, and we're both pro-life.
Sarah Palin is a quitter and an attention whore.
The fact that she's gotten anywhere in life just goes to show that women who are moderately attractive will always be able to lead gullible men around by the nose.

She quit at the right time and gets all the attention she wants. Makes her smart, no, really smart and extremely successful. You compare your wife with Sarah Palin, is your wife a public figure, is she successful as Sarah Palin, has she been a Governor of the largest state in the union, has she written books, done TV specials, is a FOX new contributer. Just asking.

I started a thread on this last week- http://www.uspoliticsonline.com/poli...-saturday.html
Thanks for the link to the NYT article. SP is an interesting character, and I for one appreciate the viewpoint of whoever wrote that speech.
Romney is getting a lot of money and that is ruffling the feathers of the Republicans that are not and they are speaking out through Palin.
Money interests are a threat to the tea party. Although there are some major players who fund libertarian groups. Like the Koch brothers.
I've never once suggested that Sarah Palin hasn't been successful.
But I don't think being smart is a necessary prerequsite of success.
My contention is that Sarah Palin is not smart, and I maintain it.
The woman is as stupid as a box of hammers.
My wife isn't a public figure. She isn't as successful as Sarah Palin. She hasn't been a governor, but she's never run for elected office and has no real interest in politics. She hasn't written a book but, again, she's never tried. She has published papers. She hasn't done "TV specials" but she has been on television a handful of times. She isn't a FOX contributor.
Sarah Palin is also 11 years older than my wife, so we're not really comparing apples and oranges. When Palin was my wife's age she was the team hockey mom and teaching Eskimos how to pull a voting lever.
What a difference a decade makes.
My wife is also a lot hotter than Sarah Palin, and note that I am not suggesting that Sarah Palin isn't hot, she is, it's just that she's not as hot as my wife.![]()
