Something we should remember if you are an American. It has been 10 Years since Murderous Muslim extremists killed over three thousand people here.

This time 10 years ago I was home from work, I'd seen men cry I would have never imagined would have cried in that manner earlier in the day, on that day we were at war agaisnt an unknown enemy, phones were ringing and teams were being readied for rescue (before either tower fell) and all too soon for what would clearly be recovery efforts.

In the weeks that followed I had the dual luck and misfortune to have access to a photo pool from the NY site, where I sifted through piles of images from the site and got to witness horrors I had never really expected to part of my job. At times I wanted the general public to see all those images, part of me was very glad the release of the images was curiously restrained at the same time (it was an unusual voluntary censorship). The recovery assistance teams were on the NY site for several weeks and most of the effort was spent identifying possible human remains and the occasional recovery of them, some as small as a fingertip others as large as a fist but few so easily identified.

A month after the towers fell my six year old son was in the hospital recovering from an emergency surgery when the U.S. started action in Afghanistan. I couldn't help but think a lot of Fathers all over the world would be sitting at their son's bedsides and few would be as lucky as I was.

I've had co-workers, friends and relations serving overseas for years now. I have a nephew in Afghanistan today (he was in elementary school on 9/11) and his service to the nation and the news from that distant land is part of our lives.

Our lives are still essentially the same as they were all those years ago. That's the reward of the sacrifices of our servicemen. Despite all the rancor and political maneuvering we are still the United State of America.

Here is an article that explains some of how America reacted to this attack:

    --------------------------------------------------------
    ...........

Despite the "United We Stand" posters plastered everywhere, Americans almost immediately divided into two irreconcilable camps: those willing to understand the nature of our enemy and those who wanted to deny it, at all cost.

a friend coolly informed me, "the people in the Twin Towers deserved it." Still reeling from that shock, I almost lost it when another friend admiringly compared bin Laden to George Washington. Soon thereafter, a well-known academic in my circle complained that the sudden outpouring of patriotism made her sick.

    ...........

The more we learned about the savagery of the Islamist world, the more our moral and cultural superiors turned their wrath on us, instead of the enemy.

    ...................

And thus, from the ashes of the World Trade Center arose Barack Hussein Obama -- the One who would redeem us, floating above the world like a multicultural Messiah. He bore a miraculous name, redolent of our two worst enemies, which seemed to promise some sort of divine intervention. He offered us the Muslim heritage of his father as a magical shield, deflecting the homicidal rage of seething hordes in scary, far-off places, and preserving our peace with no price to pay. His jutting jaw, tilted upwards a la Mussolini, would be our amulet, as all the world marveled at the Lightworker, the brilliant new god America had made.

The hysteria that accompanied Obama's campaign -- the fainting at his rallies, the Il Duce-like graphics, the Styrofoam Greek columns, the singing of his praises by glassy-eyed students led by enraptured cadres of apparatchik teachers -- bore no resemblance to anything that had ever happened in mainstream American politics. We tried to create a god to defend our freedom, because it was easier than the hard work needed to defend it ourselves.

Alas, the destruction that Obama wrought may ultimately dwarf the wreckage of 9/11. As we are now relearning, there are no man-made gods; only the All Mighty who never tires of teaching us that the road to freedom has no shortcuts

Articles: Obama and Our 9/11 Trauma

    --------------------------------------------------------

Exactly like the "magnificent 19" had planned and hoped.

9-11 the saddest day America has ever experienced, we might not recover from it.

The magnificent 19 led us to Obama the destroyer. For a hard core Islamist, it must appear they didn't die in vain, their sacrifices are bearing very good fruit(s).

They set us on the path to a quick self destruction.

And we deny that it's happening ... as it's happening !!!

Ahoy, me friend. We aren’t shoppin’. Consumer confidence, as well as anyone’s confidence, is sliding off the poop deck.

And also if you are non-American. There were many non-Americans who were killed on 9/11, something which many Americans forget. 67 Britons lost their lives that day. Around one-eighth of 9/11 victims were non-Americans.
