...but it's not the 155 page version Obama presented!
It seems that Louie Gohmert (R-TX) noticed that nobody had introduced Obama's bill so he "shared the wealth" of the title and added it at the top of his own legislation. The bill is 2 pages long and simply proposes that the corporate income tax be eliminated.

Clever
Meanwhile, Obama says this is a national emergency now. Jackboots will soon be mobilized to track down targets from his attackbuster.com website.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/15/us...jobs-bill.htmlRALEIGH — President Obama turned up the rhetorical heat in his push for his jobs bill on Wednesday, declaring that the country is facing a “national emergency” that demands Congressional action on his $447 billion economic package.
Somehow or other I don't see that happening any time in the near future.
The fact of the matter is that a bill like this, if enacted, would likely spur and absolutely insane amount of growth. It would also immediately serve to decouple (in a large part) corporate interests from government interests.
If such a bill passed today I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see GDP increases in the double digit range for the next 5 years.
Of course we would also suddenly see a glut of corporate accountants who needed retraining.

What was that old fable about the boy who cried 'wolf' too many times?
And the downside would be what?
I think decoupling would be the best. Looking for a downside here.
Still looking. Haven't seen it yet.
Still looking for a downside here. Just don't see it. I wonder if it's even there.
Why not bring this idea up to your congressmen? Couldn't hurt.
Given the changed post-election legislative landscape I can only hope that the administration and the congressional houses can find a way to work together, finding the right compromises to do the people's business, while keeping the people's best interests at heart, and may civility return to the public discourse. We, as a nation, certainly need all of these things.
Yeah, well that's a lost cause now for sure.
