Default Republican says government shutdown possible

Just wonder how all those cons who claimed, inaccurately, that Clinton shut down the federal government during his administration, think about those in the GOP that seems to say, "Hey, it's not a big deal, we'll just shut it down for our own petty little plan." Didn't work too well for Grengrich and the GOP back then, and I think it will be equally as bad for them now.

    Ouch — A Big Error

Washington (CNN)- A top Republican on the House Appropriations Committee says that the fight to cut spending could lead to a government shut down.

Sure let the Pubs shut it down. BUT, hopefully they will keep it shut down for at least 6 months! Then see how their re-elections bids work out in 2012. The thing about playing with fire is you can get 3rd degree burns that don't heal very fast. So hell yes, let em shut it down. America needs to see these jackwags for what they really are. Then we might have some chance at a future.

Actually, what happened was then-Pres. Clinton vetoed the Congressional spending bills and, as a result, Congress and the President couldn't come to any understanding on government spending. Clinton had just as much a part to play in that as the republican-controlled House. One could say that the shutdown was a bipartisan effort. The only reason the republicans were largely blamed is the Dems had a better PR campaign. Truth isn't really interested in a PR campaign though.

Now, I'm not saying that a shutdown of government to essential functions is necessariliy a bad thing. If the end result benefits the country, it may be a worthy action to take.

    -Declaration of Independence

Two truths that many Americans seem to have forgotten:
    1. Men are endowed by God with inalienable rights.
    2. Government's purpose is to secure man's God-given rights.

It takes two to tango. If the government shuts down, it will be a bipartisan effort.

Shutting down the government would be a chance at a future.

The Republicans made a point of giving the President a bill he could not sign. That whole thing was an orchestrated drama, for political effect. Fortunately, most of America's voters are smarter than Republicans think, so the Republicans little drama backfired on them.'

Do you honestly believe that is the only impact there will be on your life?
