Default Americans trust military, but not Congress

Seems like the congress, senate and WH is in a nose dive. But other parts of gov. is gaining more support.

Poll: Americans trust military, but not Congress - Yahoo! News

Congress may be in the doghouse with the American public, but a new poll suggests that the broader government — especially the military — gets high marks for keeping the nation safe and secure.

But deep contempt for Congress and aspects of President Barack Obama's health care law remain among Americans tired of partisan standoffs over basic pocketbook issues. The Associated Press-National Constitution Center poll of 1,000 adults, conducted Aug. 18-22, found that 57 percent have little or no confidence in Congress, up from 49 percent last year.

Our young men serving in the armed forces ... imperfect like any of us ... but their hearts are in the right place. I can't say as much for our politicians whose actions are always suspect.

There is no mention of when the poll was taken, but I suspect it was very recently...in the run up to all the 9-11 anniversary hoopla.

I am surprised at the reaction to banks, but then its a matter of how the question was formed. Most people have a good opinion of their own bank or branch, but generally a low opinion of the institution of banking. I doubt this survey made the distinction.

I predict David Patreus steps in as a Gaius Marius figure, reforms the trusted military, and establishes an empire.

Not really, but things here are beginning to look a LOT more like the late stages of the Roman Republic every year.
