To promote a new TV show, CBS has installed interactive billboards in NY and LA that zero in on a passerby and take their picture, wanted or not.
There is, of course, no expectation of privacy in a public place, but this goes too far. To have your picture displayed on a billboard with the caption "Person of interest identified" just seems so invasive.
Where will it end? Do we have to wear masks to avoid being centered out?

Hmm...I'm not so sure that this bothers me at all. I remember when video cameras first came out and every store had one set up by the entrance. People would just stand there fooling around with it. It was kind of fun.

It's promotion for another cop fantasy tv show that substitutes a really stupid idea for this arcane device of a "plot", which none of them know how to write anymore; and they wonder why people would rather watch orange hookers fall down in bars.

I haven't yet watched the new 5-0 because the old one was so bad it tainted my viewpoint. I mean, it was nothing but another stupid cop show, but this one was set in Hawaii. Not even an ongoing Chinese villain changed anything.
Strangely, the one that actually tried to use the setting to advantage (Magnum) was even worse.
There hasn't been a good cop show on tv since "The Rockford Files"

During the journey we commonly forget its goal. Almost every profession is chosen as a means to an end but continued as an end in itself. Forgetting our objectives is the most frequent act of stupidity.
