Default The Global Warming consensus is total.

Quote:
Editorials continuously claim that there’s “no scientific consensus” that human activity is causing global warming. The level of consensus in the scientific community concerning climate change is incredibly strong. The National Academy of Sciences, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (w/ 2500 member scientists), The American Meteorological Society, the American Geophysical Union, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), have ALL issued statements concluding that the evidence for human modification of climate is compelling.

The time for allowing nitwits and liars to distract us is over.

Its' time to act and demand action.

Duke University, Oxford University, the Max Planck Institute, and NASA all have data that the sun is the source for global warming.

Sounds to me like your consensus is lacking. But I suppose those are just nitwits then? Rather then leading scientists from leading institutes.

I think by now, the cause of global warming is out of the debate, the new debate is whether we're going to adapt or just go on as we've gone.

Good point, Speedyer.

Perhaps the melting of the Polar Icepack, the Antartic Icesheets, the warming of the Atlantic Oceans, the droughts in the Southwest, the record warmth in the Midwest, plus the first-ever hurricane in Brasil (2-3 years back) are all one vast coinkydink.

But if they aren't..................................

Another Canadian source quite disagrees with that statement:

As one who was suckered by the "consensus of scientists" over the predictions in the 1973 "Limits to Growth," I remain skeptical, as do a number of climate scientists, if this source can be believed.

It seems there are more nitwits and liars pushing GW than the ones asking for proof.

If they aren't? Well, great! Something appears to be happening though, as there is obvious warming happening (Or is Greenland not melting?). As for the idea that all scientist are in agreement, hogwash, scientist are humans too and thus subject to bias, greed, or just plain doubt. Again, I'd like to think that this issue is done, but I doubt it.
We'll most likely end up at square one again, because most of us can't agree whether there is warming or not, don't even get me started on us agreeing on the cause. Ah well, it really doesn't matter, I'm no scientist but I do know this issue will be solved. Not by men/women of course, but rather by time. Either way, choose your opinion, and pull up a lawn chair (Yes, opinion, because unless your a scientist with all the knowledge in the world your info is still based on what one guy or another says).

Proof doesn't always exist, especially if there isn't enough data, sometimes science is just taking this or that and forming a theory (IE evolution). Or maybe its just the end of days, because the bible is absolute proof. Either way, who cares? There either isn't enough data or rather not enough effort on the part of the human race to embrace the truth, and with this issue having gone beyond science, I'm through with this issue. Time will tell, and then we can gloat either way.

Time will tell for sure. The scientists say we have 5 years to make a difference, after that, it will be too late. Once the ocean gets hot enough, you can't stop the ice caps from melting all the way and the sea level will rise and flood all coasts around the world. Pollution makes the planet hotter. Let's cut our pollution. It's the only way.

If you have no proof, you have no perspective to act on. Right now all the left has is guesses, with the shrill bleating that we can't wait. Nothing will be done in the next five years, so we're toast anyway. Even if everyone followed Kyoto, it wouldn't have made any difference, because even Kyoto allowed increases.

Don't forget the bird flu is coming, the asteroids are going to hit, ebola will spread worldwide, and we're going to have nuclear war, to say nothing of the next super-volcano.
