Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government's coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development.

It's outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.

The bill says that the government agents, "well-trained and competent staff," would "provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices," and "skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development."

HMM--I really don't think Americans would like that kind of intrustion into their private lives of themselves & their children via the Federal Government--LOL.

If they want that kind of education--their Pediatricians can give that to them--along with about a zillion books they can buy from Amazon.com that will be able to inform them--on parental skills--childhood development & the changes in cognetive skills--language skills, etc. etc. etc. etc.

If they need a social worker to guide them through this process--they probably should reconsider having children in the first place.

You make it sound as though those people will be kicking front doors in at two in the morning to indoctrinate people.

I suspect that participation in such a program would be voluntary.

Also, I know a lot of people who could've used such a program before having children, because their kids are more fucked up than a soup sandwich...

I was just listening to our "dear leader" at his town hall meeting in NH. The idiot has contradicted himself at least 5 times. What the hell is wrong with this guy? Is his ego just too big to admit he doesn't what the hell he is talking about?

My lord, this guy must not read the papers or worse he has never read the House's health care bill.
