Human life begins at conception--or actually before conception, the eggs and sperm cells are human life. This life does not become a separate human being, with its own rights, however, until it is born and separated from the mother. Anytime before that, it has the same legal and moral rights as a body part. If we were to punish, with the charge of murder, citizens for the destruction of human life in all of its forms, then everyone who chewed would be a mass murderer (every bite destroys cheek cells which line your mouth). Every cut to another person is murder. Abortion, you see, is morally equivalent to an amputation.

My fear is for those very few cases where it's done to save the life of the mother. Unless there's another alternative, doctors shouldn't be limited in this one if it's a lifesaving technique.

here is a really good alturnative, private adoption....mmm?? There are plenty of families out there that would be glad to bring another child into there familiy. It seems to me the reasons woman have abortions are purely selfish reasons. I understand that some are from rape and incest but the majority are just because the mother doesnt want the baby.
