It would also solve our illegal immigration problem on a permanent basis through Commerce that is well regulated among the several States.
That all sounds good but as long as we have an open border policy no other policy will ever work.

In my opinion, simplifying public policy choices would engender greater efficiency for our economy; no one claims more "red tape" is conducive to greater efficiency in any market based economy.

What other policies are you referring? A market friendly work visa could solve our illegal problem on a permanent basis through Commerce, not the coercive use of force of the State and its associated costs.

    No libertarians? Really?

Well, I don't believe there should be closed immigration. This country was founded with the belief that anyone seeking opportunity could immigrate here and pursue the American dream. Most of us are decedents of European immigrants who did just that.

If someone is worried that a poor Mexican immigrant with little to no education or job skills is going to "take their job", I would suggest that they weren't diligent in taking advantage of their own educational opportunities.

The ball is not in my court, if you don't want to provide support to back up your comments then I take your comments as worthless false BS rhetoric.

And where are all the self proclaimed devotees of "Austrian School" economics, they should be clamoring for open borders and unlimited immigration, as their hero Von Mises favored, and denouncing any attempt at border controls as "failed Keynesian thinking" .
"I think -- tide turning -- see, as I remember --I was raised in the desert, but tides kind of -- it's easy to see a tide turn -- did I say those words?"
-- George W. Bush, asked if the tide is turning in Iraq

    ahoy Gannan,

yer the first libertarian in the six years i been ondeck that i can recall weighin' in on immigration that actually does so usin' the libertarian platform on immigration. most libertarians who sail with us beat a hasty retreat belowdecks when this topic comes up, fer they be loathe to disagree with thar conservative brethren.
