Re: Favorite 'Really Old' Songs--20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's
Another way old song that I like is 'Let's Face the Music and Dance", originally written by Irving Berlin, but performed by Fred Astaire in 1936 for the first time, followed by versions done by Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole and a ton of other people.
There may be trouble ahead
But while there's music and moonlight (moonlight and music) and love and
romance
Let's face the music and dance
Before the fiddlers have fled
Before they ask us to pay the bill, and while we still have that chance
Let's face the music and dance
Soon, we'll be without the moon
Humming a different tune - and then...
There may be teardrops to shed
So (But) while there's music and moonlight (moonlight and music) and love and
romance
(Let's face the music and dance, dance)
(Let's face the music - let's here that music)
Let's face the music and dance
