Thread: Labor Day Weekend

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Mine's gonna be rotten because not only do I work today, tomorrow and Sunday, we've got a damned depression sitting off our coast dumping rain on us since yesterday. It will probably come ashore as Tropical Storm Lee around Sunday or Monday so that means that it's just sitting there right now. (They say it's 'moving' at 1 mph.) So much for the "official" weekend of summer but luckily down here, summer doesn't really end for another few weeks.
Anyway, y'all enjoy your b-b-q's this weekend and stay safe!

Aw. That sucks. If it's any consolation, my weekend is going to be uneventful as well so don't feel too down. This weekend will give me some time to catch up on some of the games I've bought over the last two years and haven't really touched. Stay safe.

Looking at the forecast it's only going to be 10 degrees cooler at my mountain destination verses the usual 15 or 20, but I'll take it!

Hot here, then cooling off for Monday... the pool operators will love it.

No big plans here... first kid free weekend for the GF and me since mid-July... so...

Well, I don't see how anyone can celebrate Labor Day this year, what with all the unemployment, latest numbers look like crap, etc..

I'm just hoping that once I leave work today, I can get back into my neighborhood. There's six different entrances but the streets all flood if we get too much rain at once time. So far, it's just been a light steady rain with occasional deluges so it's had time to drain into the retention pond with little problem. I walked outside a few minutes ago and saw a branch down in my neighbor's yard but I don't expect much more than that.
Don't spend all your time inside this weekend. Go find a party somewhere and have a good time!

Well darn Mrs. M looks like you guys got all our rain. Here in the Houston area we have not had a good soaking rain since last October and are in the worst drought since they have been keeping records. We were suppose to get at least 4 days of rain but old Mom Nature tricked us again. Stay safe and find something fun and foolish to do.

Sorry! I'd push it your way if I could but even now before the center is on shore, it's sucking in drier air so we may not get as much rain as predicted. Everyone to the east of us though is getting drenched.

GF now home after a WONDERFUL two kid free days, and I have work to do... so yes, I'm (generally speaking) anti-union, and I will be working today. And I'm glad to do it.
