Her Syndicate Runs Edited Version of Ann Coulter Column

NEW YORK Ann Coulter, no stranger to controversy, stirred the pot some more this past week, when she took up the the still-simmering story of ex-White House reporter James Guckert, better known as Jeff Gannon, formerly of Talon News.

Writing in her Feb. 23 column for Universal Press Syndicate, Coulter observed, among other things, that Guckert/Gannon was a better reporter than The New York Times' Maureen Dowd and his "only offense is that he may be gay." Nothing unexpected there, but Coulter also wrote: "Press passes can't be that hard to come by if the White House allows that old Arab Helen Thomas to sit within yards of the president."

But when the column got posted by Universal on its Web site, that line had been changed to: "Press passes can't be that hard to come by if the White House allows that dyspeptic, old Helen Thomas to sit within yards of the president."

The original column is still available at anncoulter.com and labelled "Universal Press Syndicate."

Helen Thomas continues to write a regular column for Hearst. Her parents are Lebanese. She has spent more than 60 years in journalism.

No Ann, he's a gay WHORE, and HE'S NOT A JOURNALIST, but a GOP SHILL (just another kind of WHORE). Who had access to the White House, and classified documents, and was planted in the WH press corp to try and fool the American public!

Some people just don't get it.

By the way Ann, calling Helen Thomas an "old Arab" and trying to get people to hate her for her ethnicity isn't going to change the subject, it's just going to further expose you for what you are, a Republican.

Most people, conservatives and liberals, view Coulter as an out-to-lunch extremist anyway.

Really? She's the best selling conservative author out there! Millions of conservatives can't be wrong!

I agree with you, she is completely nuts, and a great spokesperson for the right.

I wonder why the right gets painted as race-baiting homophobes?

Oh that's right, because they are race baiting homophobes.

Oh yeah, and greedy selfish bastards too who are stealing billions from your children.

While the rest of the cast mourned Jim Henson's unexpected death and moved on, Helen Thomas never got over it. They should have taken her off the show. She's been a downer for everyone.

For those unaware, Coulter's unforgivable sin was to revisit certain activities of a certain group of liberals post WWII who happened to mostly share the same ethnic/religious heritage. That history was supposed to be settled. They weren't traitors. Even if they were on the payroll of the Soviet Union and even if many of them did flee to USA for their Baltic State/Russian motherland.

Coulter's book on that subject got the usual suspects on the left, the Sulzberger family for instance, after her as well as certain people who pretend to be conservatives such as David Horowitz, Dorothy Rabinowitz, William Kristol, Bill Saffire and Podhoretz.

The fact that this woman is so popular through her speech is democratically speaking very interesting.

Sad and perhaps frieghtening.

I do hope you realize that the left's giveaway programs do nothing to help the budget either.

What is a homophobe, exactly? If a person was morally opposed to hunting , would that mean he secretly wanted to kill animals? Does the racist secretly want to be a minority? Do the rich secretly want to live in squalor? This is a word that was invented out of desperation.
