    Default Obama: Arrogant or Uppity?

I've noticed a nasty trend on Fox news as of late. This claim that Obama is getting "too arrogant for his own goood." What the hell does that even mean? How can any man running for President of the United States not be somewhat arrogant and egotistical. Can we say this guy is any more arrogant than George Bush, Bill Clinton, Reagan, JFK, and every other man who sought the highest office in the land. Is this just another way of calling Obama "uppity"? It certainly comes off that way.

IMO, he is dissplaying an air or arrrogance in some of the things he says and does. (example: white house transition team, globetrotting diplomacy, etc)
    (r) or (d), people just don't like arrogance. When he took off to meet with world leaders, his actions said, look , I will be the one you will be dealing with soon, and things will be better.

    As far as FOX goes, I don't watch what I don't like.......just a suggestion.

When they call you racist, they mean they lack the intelligence, intellect, and composure to examine facts and engage in actual debate on the topic.

I think it's purely a manifestation of sour grapes, personally.

The other night, I was paying some bills, and the Colbert Report came on. Colbert was complaining, in character, about how arrogant and presumptuous Obama was to act like he was already the POTUS. Then, he showed a screen shot from a McCain ad where it said, on the side, "President McCain". Colbert's commentary was, "See! McCain isn't acting like he's POTUS - he's just saying that he's POTUS! Big difference!"

I had to chuckle out loud. Nobody's running with that story, of course. But, the issue with those who are incensed by Obama isn't how he's acting or what he's doing, but rather the apparent inevitability of it happening. If Kerry had done shit like this, people would have just laughed. But, Obama is now arrogant. I don't interpret it as a racial thing, but rather whining against a sense of inevitability in much the same way that a Yankees fan might say, in the bottom of the ninth with the Yankees down 5 runs to the Red Sox, "Look at that Manny Ramirez - he's so arrogant!" The problem isn't his "arrogance", but rather the fact that he's a Red Sox and about to win.

What doesn't matter? That Obama is being called "uppity" by Foxnews via the chimera of calling him "arrogant."?

Exactly the point. Criticizing a POTUS candidate for acting like the POTUS is inherently absurd.

Confidence is a hallmark of leaders. Arrogance is not. BHO is very arrogant.

Has any other candidate been critisized for attempting to project themselves as a leader? A world leader? You would think that kind of initiative towards leadership on foreign policy would be expected and seen as a good thing. I have noticed that, once again, people don't have much about his foreign policy that they don't like, they are mad at him for having one at all.

Since it's a fine line can you point out specific things that Obama has said or done that were arrogant that other nominees for President have not?
