Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc.

Two things correlating does not prove or even imply causality.

From a natural physical perspective, wouldn't it be true that any sort of mass in the universe has a gravitational attraction on every other mass (despite how infinitesimal of a force is being produced due to the distance between the objects)? Perhaps not enough force to make a significant effect, but I wouldn't flat out deny its possibility. However, I may simply not have enough knowledge of physics.

I think you'd be hard pressed to make a case that inconsequential gravitational pull from distant objects has an effect on people's personalities (since I'm aware of no studies that demonstrate any correlation at all between behavior and gravitation). And, even if it were true, gravitation is proportional to the inverse square of the distance between two objects, meaning that the Earth's sun would essentially obliterate the effects of any distant stars.

My apologies to the OP for the digression. My opinion on the matter is that we are a product of the complement of our environment and our genetics. It would be interesting to speculate as to whether or not the balance between the two shifted depending on genetics. In other words, is it possible that your genetic makeup determines the extent to which your environment effects you?

On the "good side" the only ones that I would identify with are pioneering, dynamic, and quick-witted. On the dark side, I do not believe any of them apply to me, except perhaps for impatient. I am a very laid back and rational person, whereas the person desribed here seems to be a charming adrenaline junkie.

Well of course the astrology believers would probably say your rising sign (what you project to the world) and moon sign (your emotional nature) might have an effect on your sun sign traits, making some stronger and wiping out others. The most fun is to get your complete chart done, but I should start another thread about it sometime. Although it would probably just give the bashers who love to call me a Christian hater more ammo. Sorry for the hijack.

Interesting statement.

I have studied the mantic arts rather seriously (in years past) and I have to agree that astrology has a remarkable ability to predict personality. How it does so seems odd, but the results are impressive. Likewise with the Tarot.

In case you are curious, I'm a Sag, with Gemini Rising, Moon in Gemini (opposes Sun) with a grand firey trine and a general splay pattern (old soul). It describes me to a 't'.

Likewise, my apologies for contributing to this offtopic digression.
