Actually, I just clicked on his blog link and it's a funny blog. No, really. Like, partway down, he posts a picture of his family "to keep things in perspective." (This is right after he scathingly asks if Palin will sell pictures of her granddaughter to People, BTW.) Then he says that he "won't subject them to any danger." That's why he was forced to cancel his family trip to Alaska becuase -- according to him -- he wasn't going to put them "in anyone's crosshairs." Now, if he means rhetorical crosshairs, then that's odd. Because isn't that what he does to Palin and her family? If he means literal crosshairs, then I'd say he has an inflated sense of self-importance as I didn't even know who he was before this thread and I'm pretty sure nobody else does, either. Like we're sending hitmen to off his multi-cultural family or something.
It answer may be simple, but it is wrong.
McGinniss has been one of the leading (i.e. best selling) non-finction writers of the last 40 years.
He got of to a fast start with The Selling of the President 1968 (pub. 1969) which made him the
youngest author (age 26) ever to be on the New York Times best-seller list. The 31 weeks this book
spent on the NYT list meant McGinniss never had to work again.
From the fury of the Northmen, Good Lord, deliver us.
