Why does NJ even have a $12 million dollar helicopter that costs $2000 an hour to maintain? NJ is laying off teachers and firemen so the State Police can have a fancy ride for the Governor? How did Christi come up with the chutzpah to sign that purchase order?
Are you arguing that there shouldn't be a single police helicopter in all of New Jersey? That doesn't really seem appropriate considering their usefulness in times of emergency.

In post 55 you stated "They said it wasnt extra. The helicopter does training missions every day when they arent flying someone. Now that Christie is paying for it, they actually made money off the flight. "

I did see the part about the daily training missions unless they are flying someone. So when they flew Christie it wasn't a training mission.

I did not see anything about them making money on it. Where did you get that from?

As for leaving in the 5th inning, that came from his own people. He had to have dinner with the Iowa lobbyist trying to talk him into running for POTUS.

In all fairness to Christie, I think NJ had the helo before he took office.

Apparently NJ has had helicopters. This is a new one, but still, you are right.

""I think it's shameful," Wisniewski said. "He took the helicopter for no other reason that he could go to meet his donors in an impressive style."

New Jersey governors have made varied use of state-owned helicopters over the years, sometimes reimbursing the state at the rate of about $1,800 an hour. And helicopter travel has often made an easy target for political opponents.

During her first successful campaign, Republican former Gov. Christie Whitman criticized Democratic then-Gov. Jim Florio for using a helicopter, saying she would sell it to save taxpayers money. But she later landed in the crosshairs herself when she used the chopper to attend a Devils-Rangers playoff hockey game."

SO you just beleive everything they tell you like you accused me, except I provided a source.

Cost of training flight or flying Christie -$2000 leaves police with 0$ at the end of the day.

Christie paying for the flight +$2000 leave police with $2000 at the end of the day

Police end up with a gain. Simple math.

Christie's role is that of the proverbial "dark horse." As back when the deadlocked Democrats turned to Polk, there is a good chance that the Republicans down in Tampa will find themselves deadlocked in the internal struggle between Baggies and moderates. Christie would be one of a handful of possible candidates in a compromise scenario at that time. Until then, the lower his profile nationally, the better.

Christie will get it back somehow. He seems to be particularly adept at the game of payback to his enemies.
