    Default Independence Day Celebrations

Are any of your local celebrations reading the Declaration? Mine isnt. I asked why and they seem to feel making new citizens is more important than independance from tyranny.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the upcoming Celebrate America event at Tom Brown Park on July 4th. We, the planners of this event, believe that the Naturalization Ceremony symbolizes the spirit in which our forefathers designed the Declaration of Independence. It represents the freedoms that we all enjoy today as American citizens.

Our agenda for this year has already been published; however, we would be willing to consider adding this component to next year’s agenda.

Around here, they just blare the Anthem over the Frontier Park (specifically built for the world's largest outdoor rodeo) and the Air Force Base while firing off artillery shells. It's apparently the best show that gets put on in a non-metropolitan area though. People flying in for the 4th subsidises our airport's yearly budget.
During the journey we commonly forget its goal. Almost every profession is chosen as a means to an end but continued as an end in itself. Forgetting our objectives is the most frequent act of stupidity.

Ours always had... as part of the NPS outreach. Of course, this year we have the B-2 flying over tomorrow at noon.

    Celebrate St. Louis 2011.

I haven't asked the question... but I will.
