Default Wisconsin recall elections

So tomorrow is the day of some of the recall elections in WI. Democrats and unions have spent Millions, but will it work.

I think that some may lose but the work they have done is working to revamp the states budget, and help the school districts avoid layoffs!!

Sometimes you have to be willing to lose you job to do what's right!
"The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation." - Sen. Barack Obama December 20, 2007.

It looks down to the wire so far.

So far, 3 GOP Senators have kept their seats whilst 2 lost. It's coming down to this particular race between state Senator Alberta Darling (R) and Sandy Pasch (D). Apparently the Dem is ahead but some GOP areas have to come in by some tweets and it's neck and neck. Whoever wins that particular race technically controls their state Senate by party head count.

Looks like they are going to make it. I think Pasche is going to pull it out. She is ahead by 4% at the moment.

This to me is going to be mirrored the 2012 election. I bet the dems take over control of both houses.
There is no god. Get over it already.

Well, they might not win back the state Senate. They did get some progress, and some of the GOP guys who won were types who were otherwise ordinarily safe and in safe districts, not ones the Dems would likely win but did show some strong improvements. From that some information might be gleaned. However, state issues are not exactly compatible with federal ones, and naturally who is running in particular races have their own dynamics.

What I can tell is that the parties there are certainly showing up and are fired up for each other.

Hmm, the tweets I just read said this:

IVE BLOGOldestNewest
Today 11:55 PM Pasch Maintains Lead
@ sbauerAP : It all comes down to Darling-Pasch in #wirecall. With 68 percent of precincts reporting, Pasch has 51-49 percent lead.
Today 11:54 PM Pasch-Darling Race Comes Down To Menomonee Falls
Patch's Joe Petrie reports:

According to Patch's unofficial totals, Democrat Sandy Pasch leads Republican Alberta Darling 25,938 votes to 22,900 votes. The only municipality still out is Menomonee Falls.
But there is this:

Menomonee Falls Patch's Carl Engelking reports:
It's definitely a waiting game right now. All are waiting to see if Menomonee Falls came through big for Darling. Falls is the biggest community in the 8th Senate District, and has been dark red for a long time.

This probably does amount to nothing in the end as the votes on the Democratic state Senators is next week and at least...and at least one will come back to the GOP so even if this final race goes to the Dems, the control of the Senate will last all of a week...though it makes no odds as the other House has a huge majority of Republicans and everything else would be hit with a veto from Walker - all this would do at best is stop Walker for doing anything for the next 4 months legislatively till his own fight for avoiding a recall.

That's accurate overall, although I don't know enough about each district to know if the GOP can take a seat from a Dem...they've been defending in headwinds by the elections I've seen. They would not, however, have the power to overcome what the GOP has already done there (at least for now) insofar as the union busting, GOP benefiting vote registration rules changes or the GOP benefiting redistricting (that's being challenged in court, though). It can only serve--and that's presuming a full sweep of Dems in unison on a given bill if they win their seats still to be gotten--stopping what's already been done by the state GOP there.

It doesn't look that the last one will win anyway tonight:

Today 0:21 AM Darling Has Lead With 80 Percent Of Vote Counted
Patch's Mark Maley reports:

With 80% of the vote counted in the 8th District, Republican Darling has a 53% to 47% lead over Democrat Sandy Pasch, according to AP/JSOnline. That's a 3,100-vote margin

Today 0:12 AM Darling Ahead
@ scontorno : RT @fivethirtyeight: Darling (R) ahead after votes from Waukesha Co. MKE votes still out but Pasch (D) will probably be 1800 votes short

Today 0:11 AM Insider Says Darling Has Race 'Locked Up'
On the Patch liveblog, Carl Engelking reports:

Got word from an insider who ran Jeff Stone's campaign, and she said Darling has this locked up. The networks are just behind right now.

Today 0:10 AM Updates On Pasch-Darling Race
Patch's Mark Maley reports:

Milwaukee County is all in. Still waiting for Menomonee Falls in Waukesha County and three of eight wards in Mequon.
Our unofficial total so far in Milwaukee area's 8th District is: Pasch, 27,979 and Darling 27,215....with Menomonee Falls and Mequon still out, it's not looking good for Democrat Pasch.

No all you got out of the State of Wisconsin--is 4 districts going democrat meaning instead of 13 democrats cutting--running and hiding out of state in undisclosed locations you will now have 17 democrats cutting and running.

There are 96 congressional districts in Wisconsin--and it "looks" like 3 or 4 of those districts have confirmed themselves as real cheese-heads.
