Post Getting more members here...what you can do.

I just want to reiterate that I appreciate all that visit these forums and post their thoughts. October some a record number of posts and I hope that this board continues to grow, while maintaining a friendly atmosphere.

Something that you can do to get more members here is include a link to the forum in your signatures if you visit other discussion forums...assuming there are no restrictions against it at the other forums. I know many people frequent more than one discussion forum so it could help a lot.

I will continue doing what I can to increase the numbers here and would appreciate any help that the current members can offer.

    Thanks again!

P.S. I am 99.9% against posting the same thread in more than one forum, so please take note that the other thread has a different title and does not contain this P.S.

Ooops, now I did it again!

Thought I would add it to this thread too that you can click on the link at the bottom of the screen to "refer a friend". Most of us have friends, some of us even have friends that might have an interest in what is going on in the world around them...and then even some of those might want to share their thoughts or read what others have to say.

I come from another discussion forum, its mainly for Muslims, contains more then 6000 members from all around the globe, yet we do have lots of members with different religious backgrounds as well.
I was searching for something the other day on google.com, and i stumbled on this site. So far, I find it very nice and informative...
I will for sure recommend this site to members in that forum, and I'll make sure this site will be crawling with Muslim Shiats everywhere

You have asked for input, here it is:

This if from today's postings. While I am a firm believer in free speech, someone needs to put a thumb on this boards' resident troll. While this drivel was not directed at me, it is indicative of the type responses which will indeed chase newbies away, as almost happened to me.

I was on the receiving end of this wrath when on my second or third post I was informed that I was immature ... among other things. This person likes the word immature because I have seen it as an adjective used to describe multiple posters. Had it not been for the more mature persons on this board I would have departed forthwith. I am not convinced that others had as much patience as I.

I am not suggesting any particular "thumb" to use, I just seems to me to be in the best interest of the board to reign the troll in.

Remember ... you asked for my opinion.

i don't like personal attacks either nox, although how would marc prevent it without some form of censorship; thus sort of defeat the purpose of idea exchange. i'm for self-censorship, and i strive to ignore the attacks and get on with the subject at hand. not always easy... we are afterall humans with feelings and passion -- which is what clearly shows up from time to time. monogamous passion! lol.
