London Mayor to Celebrate Castro

London's mayor Ken Livingstone, who calls President George W. Bush "the greatest threat to life on this planet,” wants to celebrate Cuba's communist revolution by inviting Cuban dictator Fidel Castro to visit his city.

The visit would take place on the 50th anniversary of Castro’s return to Cuba to launch the guerrilla war that led to his communist takeover in 1959.

Once known as "Red Ken" when a member of England's loony left and leader of the Greater London Council, Livingstone is a great admirer of Cuba and has praised its health and educational systems, which he compares favorably to those of the United States.

According to The Times of London, Livingstone outlined his plans to celebrate the Cuban revolution to union officials last week. A Livingstone aide revealed that the mayor intends to invite the 78-year-old Cuban leader to visit London next year.

One source who attended the meeting at which Castro was discussed told the Times: "It was like being back in the 1980s. I’m sure the London taxpayer is not going to be too happy about funding this sort of pathetic jamboree.”

Was it not the Socialist Blair who went crawling back to Red Ken to beg him to come back to the Socialist Labour party after expelling him from the party after it became clear that Ken was a popular Mayor and would defeat the Socialist Labour party candidate in his bid to replace him as Mayor?

How does "Red Ken" Livingston, let alone Fidel, earn the tag "fascist"? Seems rather bizarre.

Fascist: Extreme right or extreme left supporter or leader of opressive, dictatorial, non-democratic regimes.

Castro is such a leader and Livingstone such a supporter.

Livingstones support for terrorism and dictatorships has been proven over the years. He has supported terrorists in Ireland and Iraq.

1)i don't know where you got your definition, but according to wikipedia, fascism is a right wing idealology.

3) if i am right and that is trotsky, then that certaintly is not a "trivumvirate of terror", because when Trotsky was seriously active in the communist party, after he left command of the army, he was deeply opposed to Stalin's ripping of the farmland from the people, and the mass state-sponsored murders. Trotsky wanted to use Russia's energies toward quick and decisive revolution in countries that had not yet become democratic capitalist.

To call Trotsky a terrorist is to call anyone who incites revolution and invades a country in the name of peace a terrorist. Hmm, let's see, who do we know who does that? hmm hmm, let me think...
