Default Katrina Damage Estimates Now $25B

I have to say it, because its a number so incredible I can't believe it. This is not chump change, especially with the on going war.

Hurricane Katrina, which walloped New Orleans and other Gulf Coast cities, could cost the insurance industry up to $25 billion in claims, according to updated reports Tuesday from risk assessment firms.

That means Katrina could prove more costly than record-setting Hurricane Andrew in 1992, which caused some $15.5 billion in insured losses. Adjusted for inflation, Andrew's cost would be nearly $21 billion today.

"The flooding is everywhere and I'm not talking about just New Orleans. I'm talking about all through Mississippi and Alabama," Federal Emergency Management Agency director Mike Brown told CBS News Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen. "So this storm is really having a catastrophic effect throughout the South right now."
Look, I know there's a lot of idiots saying that it's only the locals fault.

Oh no. No no no, we are not going to blame a 25B loss on just a mayor and a governor. FEMA and Homeland Security all need to go down.

This is going to impact the entire nation. Unemployment is going to skyrocket.

We're are still running up the war tab. We need to cut that off now!

Obviously we have plenty of internal issues to deal with before we get involved in long term engagements abroad.

Everyone is responsible. I would be embarressed if we just blamed a governor and a mayor for a 25B loss. That would be shameful if we excused the president and his administration. He is the captian of the ship, the ship has sunk. His administration needs to go down with the ship. It's important to hold all politicians responsible for the worst disaster ever in America.

I used to say that Osama Bin Laden caused the worst disaster in America, I can't say that anymore!

I'm am not just talking about politicians, I'm also talking about the document itself. This government needs to be revamped. We the people need to get ourselves more involved because right now we have an administration that doesn't want to take responsibility and accountability for what has happened.

We need to pen these documents to let them know they are responsible as clear as day and night because apparantly we have a system set up so that the president is excused from every mess.

This is what they will have you believe, but don't believe the hype. All of them, up to the president is responsible. If the president isn't responsible, then he serves no purpose.

An entire city went underwater that to this day still has corpses laying around. Whatever the number, it will be significant. I guess that's the key to understanding this situation.
