There was so much material to nail Kerry on, it's too bad they had to make stuff up.

I'd love to see a standard set for political advertising requiring TRUTH from both sides.

He didn't mention Clinton, you did. So obviously when you hear "liar" you think Clinton.

Sam, let me clue you in on something about politics. Everyone tolerates lies.

Hell, I'd like to see it to where the politicians can only talk about themselves. The first two political ads to run in New Mexico, attacked the opponent and never said what the candidate, who supported the ad, would do FOR the state.

Well, you do, at any rate.

No, I don't have any problem with people expressing their opinions. It is still (at least, I think it's still) a freedom we enjoy.

But they lied. I know that's a word that some of us use a lot ... with cause ... and I know that's a word some of us really don't like ... perhaps because it's true? But I object to the Swifties presenting their opinions as facts, their beliefs as gospel, when they simply lied in order to smear a war veteran who had the nerve to express his opinions.

And the same thing is happening with Murtha.

Did any of the Swifties serve with Murtha? Have any of the Swifties served in Iraq? Do any of the Swifties have the same access to military intelligence as Murtha does?

But they attack anyway, not based on any facts, just their own warped sense of "justice" and a craving for the public eye.

I re-read my post, and I didn't say a damn thing about "hating" the Swifties. I just wondered why they hate veterans.

Now I'm wondering why you feel a need to twist my words.

Hell, if you want to talk about fables, how about Republican Honesty?

But that has nothing to do with the topic at hand - another smear campaign against a war veteran by the Swifties.
