So Cindy going to Jordan with code pink to talk peace can shake things up and not let these suits get away with this unjust and stupid war they got us into. Or something.
My best wishes to them all.

The presiding King of Jordan is a smart forward-thinking man. If more leaders in the Middle East were like him, there would be less problems.

But what influence does Jordan have over Iraq or Lebanon?

None.

And what does Cindy Crawford have to do with this?

King Abdullah's wife is hot and she kind of looks like Cindy Crawford.

.....iraq is out of control...cindy has good intentions but IMO is a waste of time...rather see her on the streets of Iraq recluting soldiers for a massive "walk out" ...

And also, I don't necessarily think that Cindy has "good intentions", per se. That her actions might align with certain ideaologies must be put aside (for instance, I think Dubya is a terrible POTUS, but that doesn't make me think highly of Sheehan), and she should be considered for what she is. To put it bluntly, she's a media whore. Between her visits to Venezuela, Crawford, the TV circuit, and now Jordan - what exactly are her intentions, besides keeping a death-grip on celebrity?

Jordan is just the meeting place since she isn't welcome to go to Iraq. She and the other fasters tried to get a meeting with Al Maliki when he was in DC. They were fasting in DC for 28 days. Maliki's people said he would meet with them if they broke the fast at the meeting. They agreed. He never got back to them. So they made arrangements with other members of the Iraqi government and were not able to meet in Iraq, so Jordan is letting them meet there.

I agree. Jordan is cool. I don't think we can bring peace and democracy through war. It just doesn't work. It's a really bad idea.

Cindy and her merry band of media darlings going over there "symbolically" to discuss peace is like a self-righteous and delusional mother in the ghetto telling the police to stand aside while she convinces the rival gangs squaring off to "give peace a chance". None of the sectarian combatants in Iraq gives a rat's ass what Cindy Sheehan thinks. It's only "symbolic" to those who set aside the fact that Cindy Sheehan has opportunistically used the death of her son to launch her celebrity career as the anti-Bush, and like her because a lot of times their political ideals line up with what she's saying.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but what has this woman actually done besides being constant CNN fodder and travelling the world?

...i think she has done a wonderful job..raising awareness about an invasion that is a sham...she did it when the corporate media had the same "flag waving" hypnotic song.... she woke up a lot of people in the US from that induced deep alpha-beta dream...she deserves a lot of credit for that..

I think she has raised awareness. She does non violent protest. She's fasted, camped out. She's tireless. She's giving her life for the cause. She hasn't backed down. She is brutally bashed by the extreme right yet she keeps the message alive. This war is wrong and it should never had been fought and it needs to end. Bush's stay the course is crap, and it's not working. Regular citizens that stand up in the face of harsh criticism, called unpatriotic, unamerican, character bashed are pretty brave. I admire strong women.
