I didn't even know there was a moratorium (A suspension of an ongoing or planned activity) on drilling off the coasts. That's 25 years we havn't drilled of our coasts.

and the best liberals can come up with is 'there's probably not oil out there anyway' truly pathetic.

we need to get on them to; anyone who's against the u.s. producing it's own oil. i tend to notice that it's the liberals of the board that generally seem opposed to the idea of us getting our own oil

The real question is if drilling is really going to make any significant difference, and if the money spent on drilling were diverted to the development of alternative energy sources, would the long-term benefit be greater?

You misunderstand; i'm not for the govn drilling. I simply think the govn should stay out of the way of private businesses, or publicly owned corps, and let the market dictate whether or not it's profitable to drill in those places. As it is the govn isn't allowing any drilling.

And Samantha companies have tried to push electric cars; they are a poor substitute for the gas guzzlers we currently enjoy. Until a company can create an electric car that is as easy to operate and maintain I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the change.
