I was just in South Beach a few days ago. Very nice, but a little too humid this time of year.

I disagreed with what you posted then and here's an article proving how your liberal bias is affecting the nations ability to produce it's own oil.

WASHINGTON - The Senate voted Tuesday to open 8.3 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico to oil and gas exploration in a bid to boost domestic production and stabilize natural gas prices that have driven up the costs of home heating, agriculture, manufacturing and alternative fuel.
But supporters cautioned that it may not become law unless the House scales back its broader ambition to scrap a 25-year-old nationwide moratorium on all new offshore drilling.
I didn't even know there was a moratorium (A suspension of an ongoing or planned activity) on drilling off the coasts. That's 25 years we havn't drilled of our coasts.

and the best liberals can come up with is 'there's probably not oil out there anyway' truly pathetic.

Why can't we tax the h*ll out of foreign oil companies while at the same time at least begin to start drilling our own oil? Only until Cali, Fl, La, and alaska loosen those liberal restrictions that make it unprofitable to drill can we begin to decrease our independence on foreign oil. We have the oil all we have to do is drill it.

You slam the liberals for this, but what about the Bush Adminstration?

we need to get on them to; anyone who's against the u.s. producing it's own oil. i tend to notice that it's the liberals of the board that generally seem opposed to the idea of us getting our own oil

The real question is if drilling is really going to make any significant difference, and if the money spent on drilling were diverted to the development of alternative energy sources, would the long-term benefit be greater?

Your thread makes me want to make another thread with the title:

Take away 25 years from 2006 and we get 1981. Reagan era. Stupid liberal Republicans and thier determination to undermine our oil production! Wait a minute...

You misunderstand; i'm not for the govn drilling. I simply think the govn should stay out of the way of private businesses, or publicly owned corps, and let the market dictate whether or not it's profitable to drill in those places. As it is the govn isn't allowing any drilling.

And Samantha companies have tried to push electric cars; they are a poor substitute for the gas guzzlers we currently enjoy. Until a company can create an electric car that is as easy to operate and maintain I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the change.

You think you're being smart; but who controlled the house and senate during those years?
