Out of the past 12 presidents polled, the average I.Q. for a Democrat is 156 and the average I.Q. for a Republican is 115.5. That is a difference of about 40 I.Q. points. Now I am not making any general statements but. . . LOOK AT THE NUMBERS!

Well actually - "common sense" is the primary measure of ones I.Q.
I.Q. is basically two things: "The speed and accuracy of which a person processes information" and "The measured ability one can get from A to D without the benefit of knowing B and C".

I dont know i think its more a reasoning and hypothetical solve the problem thing.

Common sense is real world enviorment to me. I know alot of super book smart people.
They all can do a thesis on morailty no problem but when a pipe breaks in their cellar they have the lack of common sense to shut off the water supply until the plumber comes. Letting the house flood.

I dont think a pen and paper test can come up with my ideal of common sense though i dont know the internals of the test and you probably are right on the theory behind it. I stand corrected in that sense.

You know like Kerry eating a steak sandwich upside down and asking for swiss cheese on it at a photo op. i dont hold this against him its not his enviorment.
I blame his pr people for not staging it correctly.
