Really, you kill Nasrallah and somebody else just takes his place. If Hezbollah killed Olmert somebody else would just take his place. Im not sure it would actulaly change anything. Of all the assasinations Israel has carried out, even if they have prevented some attacks, it has not changed the overall problem at all. If I were Israel i might not risk widening the conflict to rake out a guy who might be replaced by somebody crazier. Andrew

If true...Iran is practically handing them an invitation to start a much wider conflict. |

Fox is reporting Kuwati officials have confirmed he is in Damascus. However he is there meeting with top Iranian officials...which again provides strong suspicion (for those that don't already know it) that Iran is clearlly giving direction, if not totally in control. |

What new ally? Lebanon?..hardly, I guarentee you Lebanese officials would LOVE to see hesballah eliminated, and get the southern 1/3 of their country back out of Iranian clutches. Or do you mean Hesballah? Hesballah was at first a weak political party in Lebanon, then Iran seeing an opportunity - provided a shipload of cash, weaponry and it is widely known provided military training alongside their own army. Their relationship with Hesballah has nothing to do with Iraq or the U.S. - it was a great vehicle for them to take over 1/3 of Lebanon..a country that has been becoming moderate like Egypt etc. - something Iran does not like at all. |
