Why do more people have to die because the leaders of these countries like to blow shit up?
Or how about if we just convince the UN General assembly to vote Israel, Iran, and Syria into the security council. That would force them to negotiate on a regular basis.

I don't see the underlying point.

You start with military operations, but what goals do you try to reach? What is the object of the mission?

You cannot make a military intervention before you have your political motives and military goals outlined in detail.

I think what really needs to happen is political reform in the region. The countries in the region need liberty and democracy. A New World Order needs to be implimented.

Hopefully not like your liberty and freedom.
What is this new world order like? Start a topic on it?

The goal is to STOP the violence . . . NO . . . political hesitation . . . do and then negotiate

It's sad news, I know ... but it's just an illusion that you can "put out" that fire so easily. It's just not possible. Just look at Iraq or Afghanistan. Unless the Irsrael-Palestine question is answered peacefully ... which is not likely to happen anytime soon ... there will be no solution.

Unless you want to nuke the whole region, there just is no practicable way. How many million soldiers would you need to send there? We are not only talking about southern Lebanon here, were are talking about the complete Near and Middle East and a lot of other countries in Asia and even Africa.

That said, what's the point of continuing to maintain Israel?

Well ... it's like Edmund Hillary's answer why he wanted to climb the Everest, "because it is there".

I asked that question because Israel certainly isn't the safe haven for Jews that the Zionists intended it to be. Jews are far safer in the diaspora.

The longer this sorry state of affairs is allowed to drag on, the likelier it is that it will end in nuclear conflagration. So much for "never again", eh?

Yeah. I wonder if I would want to live in Israel today ... I doubt it.

The whole situation is a mess ... and what's even worse is that there is no hope for a peaceful solution or at least any sensible solution at all. It's depressing.
