It's a deal Mrs M I don't want Xavier to apologize to me. I just want to give him my appreciation without any strings attached. He is one of the guardians at the gate. He deserves some respect.

Ok, let's talk about what he said.....

I thank all my friends, family and customers as much as I feel like it. But, Xavier when you demand a thank you, it seems to loose all meaning. I tend to respect those that are a little more humble. I tend to respect soldiers that do their duty because they love to and not for a forced thank you.

Oh and I would have been here sooner, but I was paying respect to a fallen N.M. soldier and helping the patriot guard keep the members of a BS church away from a funeral. So, sorry I didn't respond fast enough for you.

Nice gesture Samantha. But I guess it was bound to turn into an argument, no fault of your own though.

Samantha-
Your sentiments are greatly appreciated.

For whatever reasons, we all volunteered to serve.

And we each show that appreciation in our own ways.
Xavier chooses his way, I choose mine.
Neither one is wrong.

Nice thread and great gesture samantha

Great Granfathers both side WW1 Us Army
(Moms) Grandfather Flag officer in the Pacific

(Paternal Fathers )Grandfather Marine Infantry Officer in the Pacific

ALL Great Uncles all fought in Korea Marine Infantry(both sides of the family)

Fathers Vietnam MP in the Marines

Step Father Airforce Vietnam

Step Mother Airforce Vietnam

Eldest brother 6 years Marines

Myself 20 years US ARMY Infantry(had to break the mold)

my hats off to all who have served and all who will serve

it takes a special person to give up their life to live a life of service to their country i do not say that to laud myself , but more to laud the young kids kitting up and serving right now (as they always have) in time of war

when others are going to college or hanging out partying

there are tens of thousands of kids who have put those plans on hold to heed their nations call(one that was never given really)

so to them i raise a toast

and to the Millions who have perished in the defense of this great nation in time of war and peace. Who died far away from family and friends on foreign land , not all the time for cause or country but for the guy to their left and right

I raise a toast

in the end i think the lines from Jarhead sum it up for those who have served

A man fires a rifle for many years

And he goes to war

And afterwards he comes home

And he believes he is finished with the rifle

But then he sees whatever else he might do with his life

Build a House

Love a Woman

Change his sons diaper

He will always remain a Jarhead

And all the Jarheads killing and dieing

They will always be him

Forever~
