Default US Embassy in Yemen Bombed

16 dead in US embassy attack in Yemen - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

16 dead in US embassy attack in Yemen
    Posted 58 minutes ago

Islamist militants have attacked the US embassy in the Yemeni capital Sanaa with a car bomb and rockets, causing "multiple casualties," an embassy spokesman said.

Sixteen people, including six soldiers, six militants and four bystanders, were killed in the twin car bombing, the interior ministry said.

The US embassy says none of its staff has been hurt.

Witnesses said gunmen raked the Yemeni police detachment outside the heavily fortified embassy compound before a suicide bomber blew up a car right by the entrance, setting off a fire....
Although none of the US embassy staff were killed, this is tragic.

Leave it to the terrorist pigs to kill more innocents in their anger.

According to FNN, some group calling themselves "Islamic Jihad of Yemen" is claiming responsibility.

This could be in response to al Qaeda;s recent video which was critical of Muslim countries that didn't wage Jihad against America.

My condolences to the victims families.

Hey AA? Do you have a link to information about that AQ video? I'd like to see that info; I don't know much about that video.

My regrets at the loss of innocent civilian life.

Do you think it might be in revenge for the US killing 90 Afghan muslim civilians, as confirmed by the UN ?

    http://www.uspoliticsonline.com/war-...airstrike.html

Or was it just because America is currently so unpopular, for a host of atrocious and harmful foreign policies ?

I admit that I don't know why it should have happened, but I do know that there must be a motive for such actions. Perhaps somebody would like to offer some sensible suggestions.

Was the embassy sheltering any high-ranking military targets ?

No. Go to that thread and don't try to use the blood of these victims for your agenda.

Agenda ? You mean protecting civilians from mindless attack ?

    What was the motive for attacking the embassy ? Ignoring civilian casualties for the purposes of assassinating military/political enemies is very fashionable;
    For example-

This is now a commonly-expressed opinion here. How does it fail to relate to American casualties ?

Of course, some of the victims in this recent bombing might have been pro-Islam, Middle-East friendly speakers of Arabic and respecters of Yemeni culture and tradition. That's why I say that blanket bombing of anywhere is mindless. The loss of even one such civilian isn't worth ten NATO generals.

Moon, this thread is not a billboard for your pet threads. I'm asking you nicley to please stop it.

Here is another article on the bombing: Al Jazeera English - Middle East - US embassy bombed in Yemeni capital
.... A group called Islamic Jihad in Yemen has claimed responsibility for the attack and threatened to target the British, Emirati and Saudi embassies in Sanaa, reports say....
They also say that group has claimed responsibility in addition to information of other planned attacks by them.

Ah, good old Moon - always ready to offer up justification and excuses for any attack on the US.

You've never once called the bombing your Hamas and Hezbollah idols do "mindless". To the contrary, you cheerlead for it constantly, and spin lim excuses for why Hamas and Hezbollah kill civilians.

Please, spare us your transparent and hollow condolences.

But it is quite telling that the reason you are against bombing is it might kill "pro-Islam, Middle-East friendly speakers of Arabic and respecters of Yemeni culture and tradition". Apparently, it's just fine to bomb folks who aren't "pro-Islam", "Middle East friendly" and / or "speakers of Arabic and respecters of Yemeni culture and tradition".

Nice to have you on record with that.
