BTW, chas - I read somewhere that that's kinda the point of the waterfalls, to remind you of the buildings coming down. Never forget, and all that. It's not exactly supposed to be a pleasant memorial.

Same here. It was in really bad taste to outsource the project.

And BTW Jefe, your new avatar has me perplexed. What is that?

It looks kinda like an old Gibson Firebird, but it has a really weird tailpiece on it.
There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. -- Rummy

I have yet to see any evidence that anything was outsourced.

It's a custom made Fender Jazzmaster (body from Allparts, vintage Fender vibrato tailpiece), belongs to this guy: The Sonic Youth Gear Guide I'm not a huge Sonic Youth fan, I just happen to like the color scheme - I've got a similar guitar & I'm thinking about refinishing it like this one.

While it was being built we didn't have a serious unemployment problem and having a "made in the USA" requirement would have gummed up the works even more and we wouldn't have a finished memorial in time for the 10th anniversary.

The Made In America and Davis-Bacon requirements were part of what killed the stimulus. When you need something, you get it, from whoever is selling it, whoever can deliver it to you. At the best value.

Just out of curiosity, do you have anything that shows that we outsourced parts of the project? Not saying we didn't, but I've come up short trying to find evidence that we did.
