The issues with FlashChat seem to have been fixed, and it is available for member use so please feel free to give it a try. The feature is available near the bottom of the index screen, below the area listing the day's visitors. Keep in mind:
1. All forum rules apply to use of the chat feature.
2. The software maintains a log of everything said in the chat so it is not private. If you don't want people to find out stuff, don't say it!

Its usually more active on election nights and big football game days and what not. But its been so long since anyone has even been able to use it, who knows.
Plus a ton of folk use hand held devices to come on the forum, and it won't always support such things as flash player etc.
