There was a Trillion dollar deficit built into the structure of the federal budget the day Obama took office. And the economy was shrinking at a rate -6%/year, the day Obama took office, and there were 850,000 jobs lost the month Obama took office. The financial sector was in ruins the day Obama took office. There was a major debt crisis involving American homeowners the day Obama took office.

None of that was resolved by march 09.
And who is responsible for passing budgets? Congress. Who was in control of both houses of Congress when Obama took office? Democrats. Who was a member of Congress before he became the President? Obama.

    Aren't facts fun??? Yay!

Oh please, can we dispense with Owebama's Big Lie.

The budget he "inherited" was about $627 billion in deficit. It skyrocketed because of the very policies Owebama brought in, not the least of which was a bail out of fat, rich, coke snorting bankers to pay their multi-million dollar bonuses.

I think things will go better in your life when you lose the man crush on Owebama

In March of 2000, 11 months before Bush took office, the economy started a nosedive. Don't give me this Bush inherited shit without including the Clinton Recession he inherited.

So Obama should have cut military spending, laid off the military in Iraq and Afghanistan (how they got home would be their problem).
Because he shouldn't have spent a nickel continuing those policies.

There is a momentum to government, you can shift the direction, but not the immediate results. Clinton had big deficits when he first took office, but he shifted the direction, and eventually ran surpluses, Bush had a big surplus when he took office, but he shifted the direction, and eventually had a trillion dollar deficit, and a collapse of the financial sector (not entirely his fault, Newt Gingrich has a big share of that blame).

    Ahem,

I don't see anywhere in my post where I even implied Bush inherited anything. My post was pretty specific to the deficit "inherited" by Owebama.

Enjoying retirement in a suburb of Dallas Texas, and at his ranch.

Say what you will, but George W. Bush is a rare former President that seemingly doesn't miss the public attention.

more likely because nobody in their right mind would pay him ANYTHING to hold a speech. Clinton makes more money per year on speeches than he ever did as president.
