I really don't have a clue as to how he plans to accomplish this without cutting back dramatically on SOMETHING though and I didn't hear any of that.

Cutting payroll taxes on both the employer and employee sides certainly will put more cash into circulation but I really don't see how it's going to create more jobs. Employers aren't going to hire just because of that because they happen to be well aware that there is still a $14 Trillion debt out there that is going to have to be paid and they know exactly who is going to get hit up for the tab on that.

Basically, what I heard is that he wants to cut payroll taxes, build roads and hire more teachers. Great.....if you work construction or are a teacher.

This isn't a plan. It's breaking out the credit card again to buy more shiny shit while shining the good people on about "you'll have more money". I really, really don't believe that this guy has any clue whatsoever about basic economics.

There is some good thinking here, but I can't help thinking it is too little too late. By telling them they have to pass this [what? - where's the bill?] right away he is alienating again. "I'm the boss, do what I say!"

I like the idea of tax breaks for companies who 'create' full time positions. If it includes filling positions that companies have been withholding a hire, good. But can he offer enough of an incentive.

Payroll tax breaks IMO cost the government too much and put too little in the pockets of consumers.

But the rest of it is an over hyped yawn, another perfectly delivered campaign speech.

I won't be needing any meds to sleep tonight, I'll just play the speech.

This false GOP narrative that the short terms deficits are unsustainable is clever but not based in reality. Money must be spent to generate the jobs in the short term that your economy needs in order to recover. You cannot cut your way out of a recession folks. Obama's stimulus was the only legislation that actually created jobs!!! 3M of them. Time for more if you want the recovery to take hold.

Here is my take, more of the exact same thing but worded a little different. More money to states for union teachers, more money to build a bridge for union workers, borrow today in exchange for cuts tomorrow.

Now we already borrowed money for the first stimulus that he said we have to pass not to keep unemployment under 8%, and now Obama wants to do the exact same thing and insists we pass his new jobs bill now with out any way to pay for it. But the new twist is he says it paid for with future cuts, meaning lets borrow all the money we want with the understanding that future generations are going to have to pay it back.

Oh and just now he thinks jobs are important, yeah only for his reelection.

I can not wait until this guy is gone

I don't know anyone that gives a shit or even has any interest in what Mr. Obama has to say about ANYTHING, people just want to get rid of the sonofabitch ASAP.

No Danny we're going to do exactly what we did on the first failed stimulus that is borrow more money we don't have and spend it to states just like before to keep union teachers employed and build a few shovel ready project that do in exist to put union construction workers to work and screw the rest of the people in this country. If you not in a union your a no body.

So this time around you want to do exactly the same thing but are hoping for a different result. Not going happen. Obama the first president to have our debt down graded but he will also go down in history for increasing the national debt more than all the presidents before him.

You liberals are mad, thinking there is no end to the money supply. But the worst part is you could care less who has to pay it back as long as you don't have too.
